Part 2: Blake Mazza, WSU, Peyton Henry, UDub, 2019 All Pac-12 Kicker Roundtable

Episode 12, Part 2: of the Simple Kicking Show features two highly accurate kickers from the Pac-12. Washington State and Washington play in a rivalry game called the Apple Cup. An annual meeting, the UDub Huskies have won the last 7 meetings. This podcast features the kickers from the squads, Blake Mazza and Peyton Henry, who are kickers at Washington State and Washington, respectively. They experienced massive improvement from 2018 to 2019. A combined 95.1% on field goal accuracy in 2019, this is an increase of 25.1 percentage points from 2018. Together they make up the kickers on the 2019 Pac-12 Football All-Conference 1st team and 2nd team.

Blake Mazza was a sophomore on the Washington State Cougars in 2019. He was named one of three Lou Groza Finalists along with Rodrigo Blakenship, University of Georgia and current starting kicker for the Indianapolis Colts, and Keith Duncan, All-American kicker from the University of Iowa. Mazza missed 1 kick during the season, converting 20 of his field goal attempts. Mazza holds the longest consecutive field goal streak in Washington State history. Additionally, Mazza was perfect from 50 yards range by converting both attempts. Overall Mazza missed 1 kick all season converting 20 of 21 field goal attempts. Blake Mazza was named to the 1st team All Pac-12 Team

Peyton Henry was a sophomore on the University of Washington Huskies in 2019. Henry was named a Lou Groza Semi-Finalist. Henry missed 2 kicks all season converting 19 of 21 field goal attempts. Henry was named to the 2nd team All Pac-12 Team.

Blake Mazza attended Plano Senior High School in Plano, Texas and began his career at the University of Arkansas. The Razorbacks are a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC.) Mazza transferred to Washington State in 2018. Peyton Henry attended Monte Vista High School in Danville, California.

Both playing for legendary college coaches; Mike Leach and Chris Petersen, they are now playing for new head coaches. Nick Rolovich and Jimmy Lake.
